4th Green Hill International Boxing Tournament The positive visible trend in metropolitan city heading towards normalcy has given us opportunity to dev this trend further by promoting healthy sports and cultural activities. In order to promote such cultural and sports activities amongst the general public as comprehended by President of Pakistan, Gen Pervez Musharraf to make Karachi peaceful and lucrative for foreign investment . Pakistan Rangers ( Sind) took the lead and celebrated “ Mehran Sports Week – 2004” The events planned for the festivity were: MEHRAN DONKEY CART RACE The event was organized to provide festivity to general public through old cultural sports of Karachi aiming at boosting healthy sporty activities in lower class of Lyari and surrounding area. The holding of Donkey Cart Race was much appreciated by President of Pakistan, Gen Pervez Musharraf and other dignitaries. The Race was held on 6 Jun 2004 from 0900 – 1100 hrs. UMER MEMORIAL FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT The tournament was held from 12 - 26 Jun 2004 which was basically planned to recognize services of ex Capt of National Football Team, Mohammad Umer (late) “Pride of Performance”.. Further it was aimed at: • To enhance people friendly image of Pakistan Rangers Sindh. • To promote sports amongst youth of Karachi. • To dev healthy activity amongst youth thus preventing them from involvement in criminal activities and drugs The tournament was opened in glamorous and splendid fashion. It run very smoothly Foot Ball Lovers enjoyed this festivity. At the end of tournament a grand closing ceremony was organized which heavily crowded with showbiz celebrities and dignitaries of Karachi. The special one of this ceremony was that it was open for General Public and musical concert was to be graced by 12 super star singers of Pakistan.
